Capitol Hill Block Party 2011: Day Two Open Thread

Saturday’s thread will be a quieter take than day one for CHS. There were a lot of questions left to be answered as the gates opened Friday. Did CHBP organizers learn from 2010’s growing pains? On the logistics side of things, many of those questions were answered by the relative calm of the entry gates. Meanwhile, many of the local businesses outside the fences still wonder how they can better take advantage of the business opportunity of the annual festival. No answers there, yet, for some.

We open the second day thread with an image from Friday night’s rock n roll wonderland. If you are in the crowd on Saturday and see something interesting, drop us a note at [email protected] or say hey via Twitter @jseattle. We’ll be watching for #chbp tweets, too.

All I have to say is BRAVO CLEANUP CREW!

We live smack dab in the middle of Pike/CHBP – looking out my window right now? AMAZING. It’s as if a huge ass party never took place outside! And last nite it looked like a tornado ripped through the streets.

So thank you cleanup crew – y’all are fuckin’ RAD.

Smooches from upstairs!

As a local business owner I have to agree that this is the best organized Block Party yet. This morning the neighborhood was the cleanest I’ve ever seen it. No lines blocking the street last night, no people on the roofs partying, no broken windows, etc. Much better than Pride. A great event for the neighborhood.
