This morning, Sept 15th, my children were approached by a man in a white van (possibly mini-van, age unknown) with black designs on the side.  He asked my boys if they were late to school and if they needed a ride.  My boys have been trained, promptly replied “no” and kept walking to school.  This occurred between 17th and 18th on E. Galer St.  A construction worker overheard and understood the situation and approached the guy. Props out to him!   I have no other information.  Am filing a police report, but I also wanted to just put this out on the forum so that people could be aware and to encourage anyone who overhears something of this nature to intervene, take a license plate number and protect our children.  Police can’t be everywhere all the time, so the best people to patrol our neighborhood are the people of the neighborhood.
