Police search for blonde highlight bandit after woman reportedly holds up Madison Park bank

Police were on the hunt for an unusual bank robbery suspect after a bandit handed tellers a note and walked out of the Homestreet Bank in Seattle’s tony Madison Park neighborhood with $2,000 in cash last Tuesday afternoon.

The Seattle Police Department says witnesses reported the suspect was a woman. Bank employees say she fled on foot — and possibly ditched her wig — as she carried a beige tote stuffed with loot and disappeared into the neighborhood just before 1:30 PM Tuesday in the 4000 block of E Madison.

According to FBI statistics, the Madison Park suspect is a rarity. Only about 6 to 7% of bank robbery suspects are female, according to the feds.

According to East Precinct radio updates and the SPD report on the incident, the suspect entered the bank and handed the bank teller a note demanding money. The note claimed the suspect was armed but she never displayed a weapon.

Police say the bank was not able to provide surveillance footage immediately and was following up to send over video from the robbery.

Employees described the suspect as an Asian woman in her early 20s, around 5’5″ and 120 pounds, wearing a black sweatshirt, and dark sunglasses, and carrying a beige tote bag. Witnesses said the suspect had dark hair with blonde highlights believed to be a wig that she may have removed as she fled.

A search of the area was not successful.

Honestly if you have the nerve to hold up a bank like that, you deserve the money.

So this matches the description of a woman the FBI has been looking for regarding similar bank robberies in Seattle… Same use of a note, 5’5 Asian woman hiding her appearance. Not sure if links are okay to share but – https://mynorthwest.com/crime_blotter/fbi-looking-for-asian-woman-accused-of-robbing-several-seattle-banks/4031861
