When it comes to Halloween rain in Seattle, how much isn’t as important as when.
This year’s Capitol Hilloween celebrations weren’t completely dampened but the quarter inch of rain that fell on the city on October 31st seemed to come nearly all at once. The kids in the Capitol Hill Trick or Treat hot zone made the best of things with lots of Pikachus and princesses sporting rain jackets.
Seattle Halloweens have been on a pretty dry run, all in all. 2023? 0.00 inches fell. 2022 brought nearly an inch of precipitation to the city but the night’s festivities were drizzle free. The wettest in recent memory? 2015 when just under an inch fell that night.
Here are a few soppy scenes from this year’s trick or treat. Happy Hilloween.

At work they asked me what my costume was and I decided to go with wet parent. Luckily all the kids in my group seemed to have a good time despite the rain.
Who are the guys in the convincing police cruiser costume? I assume 2, like the front/back of a horse outfit.
