  • Armed robbery investigation: Capitol Hill area mini-marts have been hit with a flurry of armed robberies including one heist last week in which multiple customers in the store had their wallets and phones taken. Last Friday night around 10:20 PM, police were called to the Circle K on 12th Ave near Seattle University where the store and multiple customers were robbed at gunpoint. One wallet containing an Apple Airtag was briefly tracked to E Pike but police were unable to locate the stolen property or the suspect. The King County Sheriff’s Guardian One helicopter also briefly helped in the search. Under 30 minutes later, the 7-Eleven at 15th and Denny was also help up at gunpoint where police say the suspect stole cash from the register along with a wallet and phone. The suspect was described a black male in his 20s, skinny and around 5’10”, wearing a black tracksuit and black ski mask, and carrying a black handgun with an extended magazine. Police said the suspect description was the same as an armed robbery last month at the E Madison 7-Eleven. There were no arrests and no reported injuries.
  • Gas station knifepoint robbery: Tuesday afternoon brought another armed robbery to an area market but the suspects in this heist used a knife not a firearm in the crime. SPD says officers were called to the 76 gas station at Broadway and 10th Ave E just before 3:30 PM. “Officers quickly arrived on scene and began their investigation finding that two suspects entered the gas station, walked to the counter and robbed the gas station clerk with a knife,” SPD says. Police say the suspects grabbed around 500 dollars and left the area on foot. They were last seen southbound on 10 Ave E. There were no arrests and no injuries reported.
  • Chemical toilet fire: Seattle Fire was called out but couldn’t do much about a chemical toilet set on fire near Volunteer Park early Thursday morning. The plastic toilet stall was reported on fire just before 12:30 AM at 10th and Prospect. Seattle Fire did not investigate the fire’s cause. There were no reported injuries.

SPD’s slogan should be “there were no arrests.”

The armed robberies at the convenience stores concern me. Because that could also happen elsewhere on the hill

Especially robberies at 330pm on a Tuesday, preceded by the shooting on 15th and Harrison a couple weeks ago…
