4pm Friday afternoon shooting on 15th E and Harrison and no report in the paper or on tv news? My kids literally walk by Rubensteins on their way home from school sometimes around that time of day…this is becoming too common.
An armed car robbery at that intersection? Yikes. First I’ve heard of that in 12 years on the Hill. Reminds me a bit of the stabbing up there the other winter. Of course when you walk to get a coffee in the morning and repeatedly see busted up car windows it’s only a matter of time until someone decides it’s worth killing over.
I will welcome the crackdown on so called “petty” crime on the Hill. Make them go anywhere else, seriously. I don’t care. I’m tired of it.
I welcome additional police presence but that would require SPD to hire and train more cops. SPD also needs to get rid of the small handful of bad apples that the Union protects. All they do is continue giving SPD a bad rep.
Everyone that feels like you do needs to keep making our voices heard. To Joy Hollingsworth, to local media, in social media and to SPD. The damage to our neighborhood since Pandenic camping and BLM police abandonment have yet to be fixed. Long term residents know this; short time activists or other reformers gaslight and deny it frequently is even a problem.
