A man suffered multiple knife wounds and was rushed to the hospital in serious condition in an overnight assault amid Pike/Pine last call crowds early Sunday morning.
Seattle Police and Seattle Fire were called to the 1500 block of 10th Ave near Elliott Bay Book Company just before 2 AM and found a man bleeding from multiple knife wounds. SPD confirmed it was investigating a stabbing and said the victim was taken to Harborview. UPDATE: Seattle Fire says the victim is a 26-year-old man who was in stable condition.
According to East Precinct radio updates, a witness report said the suspect was wearing a red track suit and part of a group of males in their teens or 20s but police had little additional information to go on.
Police reported no arrests.
UPDATE x2: SPD has posted a brief with a few additional details and is asking anyone with information about the assault to call the Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000.

I almost vaguely remember the neighborhood not having weekly weekend violent assaults. Someone being stabbed would be a talking point getting coffee amongst area residents that ‘that type of thing doesn’t usually happen here.’ Now so common hardly a blip, because HEY! We aren’t as bad as St. Louis
The area after 1am on weekends is a disaster if rabble rousers. Been getting worse for years but nothing new. Nothing ever done about it.
I saw the crews from my desk here.
The 76 station on the corner is a crime magnet. The QFC kitty corner is a complete mess. Same intersection where someone was killed at the CHBP. All night smoke show after the event. It’s not unsafe here. But there’s a ton of crime in a tiny area.
Basically avoid that area and Pioneer square near Ohm and it’s really safe.
I think the homeless drug addict problem and what seems to be an increase in antisocial behaviors among other people, especially younger men, have joined forces to irritate all of us who are growing tired of all this nonsense. Fix one these problems at least. I go to that QFC all the time, it’s enough to make me want to move to West Seattle.
