LOW INCOME HOUSING INSTITUTE (LIHI) PUBLIC NOTICE
Opening of Section 8 Waitlist at the following building: The Clay Apartments
Effective on February 6, 2024 through February 12, 2024
LIHI will temporarily reopen the Section 8 waitlist for the Clay Apartments on February 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM, and the waitlist will remain open for one week, closing on February 12, 2024 @ 5:00 PM. This waitlist is for studio apartments only. These units have a maximum income limit of 30% Area Median Income, currently $28,800 for an individual.
LIHI will accept pre-applications for this waitlist in person on Tuesday, February 6 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Wednesday, February 7 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. LIHI will accept pre-applications by mail, fax, and email at any time between 2/6/24 starting at 10:00 AM through 2/12/24 at 5:00 PM.

Pre-applications will be processed in the order received. Incomplete pre-applications will not be accepted.
The Clay Apartments has a small number of vacancies to fill immediately. These vacancies will be filled in the order pre-applications are received. Applicants who apply in person on 2/6/24 may be asked to complete a full application packet to process for a vacant apartment. LIHI recommends applicants applying in person on 2/6/24 arrive with all necessary documents, which include but may not be limited to, a government issued photo ID, social security card, and documentation of current income and assets. Documentation of income may include a current Social Security Award Letter, Current VA Benefit Letter, Current DSHS Award Letter, most recent signed tax return for self-employment income, or last six pay statements for employment. Asset documentation includes the past 6 months of bank statements, or a current ATM printout of a cash card’s current balance (such as a Direct Express card or Quest card). Completing a full Application does not guarantee move-in to a currently vacant unit.
