There may be more change on the Seattle City Council. Citywide councilmember Teresa Mosqueda is in position to win the District 8 seat on the King County Council after a just over 50% showing Tuesday night.
CHS reported here on “the other November election” as Mosqueda made her case to leap from city to county government. The Seattle City Council will select her replacement if she wins.
Mosqueda was elected to one of two citywide council positions in 2017. One of the council’s progressive members, she’s best known for championing JumpStart which taxes large payroll at large companies and directs those funds to housing and other city priorities.
Not every Capitol Hill voter had a decision on Mosqueda on their ballot. Capitol Hill is split due to the mechanics of the county district mapping. Council districts are drawn with the number of people in each district as first priority, with geographic and community cohesion subsequent considerations.

I guess we are screwed either way. It will take years for Seattle to recovery from her “stop the sweeps” homeless encampment policy and “harm reduction” drug policy that attracted drug addicts to Seattle from across the country, enabled them to privatized and destroy public spaces, and lead to record levels of crime and overdose deaths.
