Capitol Hill classic Coastal Kitchen returns (late) weekday brunch and lunch to the menu — UPDATE

(Image: Coastal Kitchen)

Its diner-y days are gone. It’s a “fish house” now. But Capitol Hill’s Coastal Kitchen is back in the daily brunch, lunch, and dinner business.

The 15th Ave E stalwart launched new weekday brunch/lunch hours last week joining its dinner and weekend brunch service.

Returning to weekday daytime service marks a milestone for the restaurant which reopened after a lengthy closure with a full overhaul and refreshed concept late last year.

“We’ve turned away too many friendly faces looking for lunch while we’ve been prepping for dinner and our hearts can’t take it anymore!,” the restaurant’s social media account quipped in the announcement.

CHS reported here on last December’s Coastal restart after 30 years of business on 15th Ave E that transformed the restaurant with elevated Pacific Northwest dinner and weekend brunch while swiping lunch and weekday breakfast off the menu.

The return of weekday daytime hours at Coastal won’t satisfy early birds — the new hours start at 9 AM on Monday through Thursday and 11 AM on Fridays 11 AM — but are ideal for those of you who like a late breakfast. You can have brunch until 3 PM. That’s very Capitol Hill.

Meanwhile, these are happy times for Capitol Hill lovers of benedicts and hashed browns. In May, Glo’s another mainstay of Capitol Hill breakfast, reopened in its bigger, better location above Capitol Hill Station.

Coastal Kitchen is now open for brunch and lunch starting at 11 AM on weekdays and is located at 429 15th Ave E. Learn more at coastalkitchenseattle.com.

UPDATE: Coastal must be pretty excited. They gave us the wrong hours for their new daytime service. We’ve updated the post with the correct 11 AM start time.
