String of airgun shootings reported on Capitol Hill

Police are looking for an airgun shooter in a burst of drive-by BB shootings reported around Broadway on Capitol Hill.

Two incidents left victims with welts but no serious injuries Thursday. In the first just before 1 PM along Federal Ave E near Volunteer Park, two people reported being shot at by the driver of a passing car firing some sort of “rapid fire” airgun. “My partner has seven big welts on his back arm and stomach,” one of the victims reported in a post about the assault in the CHS Facebook group. “He will have several bruises and welts but does not need medical attention.”

Seattle Police responded and were working to collect possible video evidence that captured the driver and their blue small SUV style vehicle.

Later Thursday, another victim told the CHS Facebook group they had been shot at around 10:30 PM while walking their dog near their Capitol Hill apartment. SPD was also reportedly called out to investigate that airgun shooting that left its victim with welts.

Those incidents were proceeded by another reported rapid fire drive-by targeting workers and patrons outside north Broadway’s Bait Shop around midnight Tuesday. CHS is told multiple people were hit in that assault.

If you’ve experienced a similar incident or have information that might help identify the perpetrator, give 911 a call.

This sounds like what was happening near western Capitol Hill last year.

Damn, as if there wasn’t enough to be terrified about in this neighborhood. I am so thankful that my father is dead and doesn’t have to deal with all of this. I didn’t go for my walk yesterday due to fear about this. I know they say “Don’t give in to fear, it means they’ve won.” Well, I feel like they have won.

So your father could handle living through an era of Jim Crow laws and Japanese interment that terrorized US citizens, but kids with airsoft guns is just too much to handle?

Who raised these people? This isn’t inherited or drug-induced mental illness. This is flat-out intentionally criminal behavior, intended to cause terror and injury and it is done for ENJOYMENT.

This behavior stems from parents not setting boundaries and following through. So now we have to deal with the results of terrible parenting which means it’s up to us to set boundaries and tell them NO by prosecuting and following through!

Oh, so THAT’S probably what happened when I heard a weird RATATATAT sound then had a sharp pain that left a welt on my right arm on Wednesday morning near the northern QFC on Broadway. Morons had terrible aim, at least.
