Fogón Cocina Mexicana will host a Cinco de Mayo block party Friday at the corner of Belmont and Pine.
Friday’s free party runs from 4 PM to 10 PM outside the popular Pike/Pine Mexican restaurants with music by DJ La Mala Noche and some help on the food and drink end from El Chalupin, Fogon sibling El Lugar, and more. And, yes, there will be mariachi.
The 2023 party follows a 2022 of celebration for Fogon as it marked a decade on Capitol Hill and the opening of the Pike/Pine-style Mexican grocery El Lugar next door. Sister bar La Josie’s, meanwhile, is also going strong over on E Pike.
For more weekend things to do, consider the 2023 edition of the TRANSlations: Seattle Trans Film Festival from Capitol Hill’s Three Dollar Bill Cinema or, while its May 6th opening night is sold out, surely someone of your stature can talk your way inside the newly opened Comedy/Bar on Broadway.
