Seattle Police flooded the area around the 300 block of Broadway E Tuesday night after a woman was sexually assaulted in an attack along the busy street.
Police and Seattle Fire were called to the Broadway Chase bank parking lot just after 11:30 PM Tuesday after a 911 caller reported the attack.
Witnesses reported a man wearing all black fleeing the area on foot before possibly getting on a Metro bus.
Police were searching the area for evidence including locating security cameras in the area of the attack. There were no reported immediate arrests. SPD has not posted about the attack on its incident report website.
KOMO was first to report the attack and reports the victim was transported to Harborview in stable condition.
Police are also investigating a street sexual assault attack that took place on First Hill earlier this month.

It feels like more often then not the police show up too late to do anything. Even though they are just blocks away at the East Precinct. Thanks for nothing…as usual.
Don’t be so deliberately obtuse. Like yourself, the police aren’t everywhere at once and can’t immediately appear on demand.
Both of these attacks were in really high traffic areas at times you would expect to feel safer due to just more people around, especially because it’s so close to the light rail station.
The one a few days ago on First Hill was 8AM Friday morning presumably with people on sidewalks heading to work.
The police are often late because they don’t appear to have active beat patrols. Other cities I see 5-0 on bike, on foot or car circulating but not here.
Many people in this city, and often the loudest, do the want active beat patrols, whether by foot, bike, or car. They don’t want the police coming into contact with people, and advise that calling the police is a bad idea.
Maybe if there were no incident such as cops showing up and murdering Charleena Lyles and John T. Williams, people would feel more comfortable with more police.
Oh give it a rest with Lyles – the cops showed up because she called them and then decided to start swinging a knife around. It’s sad but should they have subdued her with hugs and hit chocolate?
If you send cops to deal with issues at a mental hospital, I am sure every patient will be dead soon enough.
Maybe so Tom. But that doesn’t change the fact that the patrols mentioned by Hillery aren’t happening because some people in Seattle, the loudest, don’t want them, which makes crimes like this one more likely.
It would be really helpful if the police would put out a description of the attacker. I was assaulted by a stranger at the Capitol Hill Light Rail Station a couple of months ago at 6:30 am and witnessed the same man grab a woman’s butt, and I’m concerned it might be the same guy. I called the cops but never actually heard any follow up despite giving them my contact information, so I assume he got away. Assaults by strangers are pretty rare, and the fact that the victims were all women makes me worried it’s a serial offender.
Thank you, you’re so kind. No, I spoke to the 911 dispatcher, they took my information, and I never heard anything from the police at all. My first instinct was to get away, and luckily it was the one time the light rail pulled up as soon as I got to the platform. I did complain about the lack of light rail security to Sound Transit, and that seems to have improved lately.
You gripe about no description being provided for the assault on Broadway and then you yourself provide Zero description of the person who assaulted you !!!
Sorry, I was too busy running for my life first thing in the morning from a guy swinging a long metal rod at my head screaming that he was going to effing kill me to get a great look, something most men like yourself will probably luckily never have to experience. I gave the best description I could to the police and they’ve apparently done nothing with the info. He matches the description wayoutwest provided below, but was wearing some kind of dingy yellow fireman’s type jacket and was clearly mentally ill and/or under the influence of some drugs.
