Cops bust unsuccessful Capitol Hill car prowler with two pounds of opioids

Reports of a suspicious person poking a vehicle with a stick in a driveway near 15th and Pine helped SPD make a drug bust on Capitol Hill Tuesday morning.

According to the SPD brief on the arrest, officers arrived to the 11 AM incident to find a man fiddling with a car door trying to poke a stick into the keyhole while holding three plastic bags filled with opioid pills.

SPD says the man was arrested  and the pills, weighing a total of nearly two pounds, were seized by the police.

The pills were identified as 858 grams of hydrocodone/acetaminophen, according to police, a combination opioid medication used to manage pain. The pills are a frequent target for counterfeiters who make lookalikes using cheaper but more dangerous fentanyl.

The 19-year-old suspect was booked into King County Jail for possession of narcotics with the intent to distribute and vehicle prowling.
