One to hospital in 23rd and Thomas shooting

One person was wounded in a shooting late Wednesday night near 23rd and Thomas.

Seattle Police was alerted by multiple 911 callers to gunfire reported in an alley in the area east of Miller Park around 11:15 PM. Arriving officers eventually located a trail of blood leading to a nearby apartment, according to East Precinct radio updates.

Police were able to eventually make contact with the person who was shot and Seattle Fire was cleared to enter the scene to treat the victim and transport them to the hospital. The injuries were not reported as life threatening.

SPD has confirmed the shooting investigation but did not provide immediate additional information about the incident. There were no reported arrests.

UPDATE: SPD reports the man suffered a gunshot wound to his leg and police recovered a bag of possible fentanyl in the incident:

While investigating the incident, police learned the victim had been meeting another man in the alley when the two men got into a fight. During the fight, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim. Police recovered a bag of possible fentanyl at the scene of the shooting.
