Seattle Fire easily knocked down a kitchen fire and a woman was taken to the hospital for observation in a crisis incident at a Capitol Hill apartment building Thursday morning.

SFD was called to the Vox Apartments building at 15th and Pine around 6:30 AM for a report of a fire in a third floor unit as police were attempting to contact a resident in the building believed to be suffering a mental crisis.

Firefighters reported the fire was a “food on the stove” incident and there was no further threat to the building. Meanwhile, SPD made contact with the barricaded woman who was taken to the hospital for observation.

There were no reported serious injuries.
