This is the era when Broadway’s minute clinics turn into bubble tea joints. Capitol Hill’s Dick’s Drive-in has a new neighbor as the block’s new Don’t Yell At Me bubble tea shop has opened for business.
CHS reported in February on the plans for the new cafe in the space left empty by the exit of one of the two Broadway ZoomCare locations.
This is the second Seattle location for the chain created by Taiwanese pop star Yako Chan. The U.S. subsidiary opened its first location in the country in the U District in 2020 and added a second in Kirkland last summer. The name Don’t Yell At Me is part of a quote summing up Chan’s “life philosophy.”
The menu includes a typical mix of sweet drink offerings and toppings plus deserts including cake slices and bubble waffles.
Its arrival on Capitol Hill comes amid a new bubble tea openings on Broadway.
A new Timeless Tea location on the north end of the street earlier this year. Meanwhile, what Starbucks leaves behind is the gain for bubble tea fans. COMEBUYTEA is making plans for its first Seattle cafe with a remodel of the 1,700-square-foot former Starbucks and onetime Tully’s space at Broadway and Pike.
