Just as any Seattle bike rider needs to pick their route through the city’s hills and boulevards, fans of Capitol Hill area bike cafes can also choose their own path where bikes, food, and drink meet. Good Weather Bicycles, part of a still going strong pack of area bike joints, is celebrating five years in Chophouse Row with new boozy offerings and a new menu approach at its Tailwind Cafe sister.
The upgrades include a full liquor license and additional indoor seating for winter, “as well as big changes to their food offerings,” Good Weather announced. “These changes help to facilitate people working remotely throughout the day, and offer a nice space for those in search of cocktails, beer, wine, and snacks later on in the evening.”
The pedaling comes as another part of the Central Seattle bike pack has also upped its game on E Jefferson where Peloton has expanded its space and offerings near Seattle University.
Good Weather was born on 11th Ave as a second floor repair shop. In 2017, Good Weather moved closer to street level and expanded to include a cafe inside Chophouse Row just off the preservation-minded development’s central patio. It has continued to grow in the space along with its original repair and service work.
Now, Tailwind is deepening its food and drink offerings with new chef/kitchen lead Jacob Wilson and a new lunch menu and evening snacks to go along with Tailwind Cafe’s popular weekend breakfast tacos, avocado toast, and sandwich menu:
Formerly a chef at Spinasse and a variety of other restaurants in SF, NYC, and Japan, Jacob is bringing seasonal ingredients along with classical training and creativity to an ever changing lunch and evening snacks menu in the Chophouse Row’s Cafe. During lunch, Chef Jacob is highlighting seasonal ingredients with a unique approach to a diverse set of dishes, from fresh made Sweet Potato Gnocchi with braised lamb to a Soba Noodle Kaiseki lunch set and so much more. The Fresh Lunch bowls are served from 11:30-2:30 Tuesday-Friday, are Vegan or Vegetarian (often GF) to start, and have the option of adding a protein should you want supplemental meat or seafood. New evening snacks, such as Miso Kettle Corn, Tofu Tots, and Pretzel with vegan beer cheese are set to make their debut Thursday, along with a simple cocktail menu and curated back bar of Vermouths, Whiskeys, and Fernets/Amaros. Spirits are set to join the already strong selection of local draft beer, cider and wine pours.
Meanwhile as our Good Weather turns into, well, Seattle weather, Tailwind offers a “Happy Hour When it Rains” deal along with a standard 5 to 7 PM happy hour. They also serve up small bite and beverage discounts daily during their daily happy hour from 5pm-7pm.

New to Seattle, are you?
This place is excellent on all fronts. Great bike repair and sales (and everything in between), delish food and a solid selection of beverages from coffee to mulled wine. So glad that a neighborhood place is building on what is already working. And! The people are all super nice!
They had me at ‘Bicycles’.
