This little pig-themed Capitol Hill ramen shop is expanding to Fremont

In 2021, little Ooink marked five years above Broadway and Pike on Capitol Hill. In 2022, the pig-themed ramen is celebrating again with an expansion to Stone Way in the Fremont/Wallingford neighborhood.

“Enjoy friendly service in a beautiful restaurant for an unforgettable ramen experience,” Ooink posted in the announcement.

The new Ooink expansion takes over the space it acquired previously home to a bar and grill concept in a mixed-use development on the busy street.

Now Ooink wil have a new neighborhood of diners who can come into to slurp up its noodles and broth or pick up some for home — Ooink doesn’t do delivery.

CHS reported here on the first five years for Chong Boon Ooi’s ramen shop and a passion for the perfect noodles that trickles all the way down to where Ooink sources its springwater.

Expanding that passion and effort is a natural step. Ooi told CHS he wants ramen to be his life.

“I just want to cook ramen before I die, I want to cook whatever I want before I die,” Ooi said. “This is how I eat it, this is how I’m going to serve it.”

The original Ooink is located at 1416 Harvard Ave in the Harvard Market shopping center above the QFC at Broadway and Pike. You can find the new Ooink at 3630 Stone Way N. You can learn more at ooinkramen.com.
