With its soft shell crab burgers in hand, Money Frog is ready to make a new start of it at the top of Pike/Pine.
The restaurant is opening its “Pan-Asian Lounge” Wednesday after a whirlwind beginning and end to its brief run on Capitol Hill’s quieter side along 19th Ave E.
There is still no word on what the Money Frog team including Joe and Lucy Ye of Hangry Panda and Khampaeng “KP” Panyathong of Taurus Ox will do with the old Vios space they have left behind.
At 15th and Pine, the hope is for a better start.

Money Frog restarts with an updated version of its menu centered around the hefty soft shell crab burger and deep fried fun like frog legs. It continues to be an eclectic mix. We fully expect you to order a side of fries with your Duck Carbonara. The house cocktail menu, meanwhile, will finally have its day.
The former home of Remedium Grill was also once home to Shota Nakajima’s debut foray on the Hill, the upscale Naka which eventually became Adana. It was first built out for the depart Le Zinc — you can thank that project for the cool bar. It’s a big, and a bit oddly shaped, two-level restaurant space with an upper lounge area and kitchen looking down on a multi-leveled table area. But Money Frog already was able to shape its space out of a family Greek restaurant the first time — anything funky about the new layout probably won’t be an issue.
And the neighbors can’t be beat.
Money Frog joins a cluster of fun food and drink providers where 15th meets Pike/Pine including Plenty of Clouds, the Travis Post and Lisa Zack’s Sichuan concept that opened in 2018 at the corner, and Brandon Barnato’s pizza and salumi rich Bar Cotto. The stretch has also been lined up for a new project at 15th and Madison where Sakana Sushi has been making plans. Meanwhile, Bobabucha provides sweet drinks and Singaporean food and snacks on the northwest corner across the street. And Panyathong’s Taurus Ox is only a few blocks away.
The second start for the restaurant now begins with 6 PM openings planned for the first two nights. Going forward the plan is for 4 to 9 PM hours on Tuesdays through Saturdays. Money Frog will also hit the ground running with happy hours from 4 to 6 PM starting Friday.
Money Frog is now located at 1449 E Pine. Learn more at moneyfrogseattle.com.
