A man was shot multiple times and police were searching for the shooter in a shooting at a 12th Ave apartment building just after midnight.
UPDATE: Police located the suspect in her apartment on the third floor of the building. She was reported in custody just before 1 AM.
UPDATE: SPD reports the victim was also a resident of the building and says the man was outside having a cigarette when the suspect reportedly pistol-whipped and then shot him, leaving him where he was found in the building’s parking garage.
Police rushed to the Mercer Court Apartments to the shooting reported in the building’s garage at 12:01 AM Thursday.
According to East Precinct radio updates, police found a man suffering multiple gunshot wounds and moved him to a safe location so Seattle Fire could begin to treat his injuries and transport the victim to Harborview.
Police and SWAT arrived at the Bellwether Housing building to search each floor for possible victims and clear the three-story structure as officers worked to locate the suspect believed to be inside.
The area was locked down and closed to traffic during the ongoing response.

There is a disturbing number of shootings, violent incidents and fires at the public housing facilities in the neighborhood.
I don’t know that this is public housing. I believe it is lower income housing developed by a non-profit. Still, I agree there have been numerous incidents involving lower income and/or assisted housing situations, such as those operated by Plymouth Housing Group lately. Plymouth Housing deals with people requiring extra assistance beyond just housing, which is different from simple lower income housing.

No it is not, full rent ppl pay here and it was all safe place till few years ago.
