The community has raised more than $13,000 to help the family of Michael Darden, the 36-year-old shot and killed in his 24th and Union apartment after an argument involving the mother of Darden’s son and her current boyfriend turned violent.
“He was a great father of 4, an amazing son and a great brother, and husband,” the fundraiser page reads.
28-year-old Deshaun Sanford was taken into custody after fleeing the scene and crashing his car onto its side at 19th and Cherry following the Sunday, January 16th shooting.
Sanford has been charged with second degree murder and remains jailed in lieu of $3 million bail.
