Police make arrest, recover parts from ‘AR15 style firearm’ after Pike/Pine assault

Seattle Police made an arrest and recovered ammunition and parts from a “AR15 style firearm” after an incident Monday night in Pike/Pine.

According to the SPD brief on the arrest, police were called to the 1000 block of E Pike around 9:30 PM Monday to a report of a male assaulting a female victim. Police say the suspect brandished the gun after two bystanders came to the aid of the victim and threatened to kill them if they didn’t leave.

The female victim of the assault fled the area prior to police arrival, SPD says.

Police in the area later found the suspect “tagging a building with ’13’,” according to the SPD report. Officers say witnesses were able to identify the tagger as the suspect in the gun incident and were able to recover ammunition and part of the rifle:

Through investigation, officers learned the suspect’s vehicle was a block away. Within view, officers located several magazines and the stock to the firearm. The vehicle was impounded with approval pending a search warrant service.

Police say suspect was booked into the King County Jail.
