There were no injuries and no reported significant damage in an overnight drive-by shooting at 23rd and Jackson.
Police shut down the area around the intersection around 2:45 AM Monday after multiple callers reported five to ten shots in the area.
Arriving police found at least one shell casing at the intersection. According to East Precinct radio updates, witnesses said the shots came from a car that sped away south from the scene.
The vehicle was not immediately located.
Earlier Sunday night, police also investigated a reported armed robbery involving a business near 21st and Union. CHS is still gathering information on that incident reportedly involving a gunpoint hold-up and will update when we learn more.
UPDATE: Police say two suspects wearing masks and gloves held up the Union Market around 7 PM. “Both males brandished handguns and robbed the employees of the cash in the register,” SPD reports. “The males then fled the area in a Chevy SUV SB on 21 Av. No one was injured in this incident.”

there are cameras everywhere on that intersection how can they possibly not be able to make an arrest?
