• Park robbery: A man had a handgun held to his head and was robbed in an overnight mugging early Monday in the Central District’s Dr. Blanche Lavizzo Park. According to the SPD brief on the incident, the victim told police he walking through the park between S Jackson and Yesler when he was approached by two suspects. One suspect reportedly placed a gun to the man’s head and said, “What you got?” The victim said he handed over his phone and the suspects left the area on foot. Police later found the phone abandoned nearby and returned it to the victim. A search for the suspects was not successful. There were no reported significant injuries.
• Thanksgiving gunfire: An apartment dweller near 15th and Pine had a rough start early on Thanksgiving, awaking to a gunshot and a shower of glass from a bullet smashing through the glass of their kitchen door. According to the SPD brief on the November 25th incident, police were called to the scene around 5:30 AM where the resident said they had fallen asleep on the couch “when they heard a gunshot and felt debris from the window hit them.” Police say there was “an obvious bullet entry in their kitchen glass door” and “evidence of a shooting on the ground.” In an unrelated gunfire incident, police investigated reports of shots fired early Thursday near 24 Ave S and S Norman just after 4 AM. Wednesday night around 6 PM, multiple callers reported hearing about four shots coming from somewhere south of 32nd and Yesler. Responding officers located evidence of a shooting within the area of Frink Park. There were no reported injuries in any of the incidents.
• Car window smashing and an attempted ‘un-arrest’ — Seattle Police say a suspect reported smashing car windows with a pipe Sunday near Denny and Melrose and another person who intervened to “un-arrest” the suspect were both taken into custody. According to the SPD brief on the incident, police were called to the area around 5:30 PM after multiple 911 callers reported the suspect “smashing parked car windows with a 3′ pipe or ‘stick’ and throwing things at traffic and screaming.” Police say the suspect crossed over the I-5 overpass and was located at Denny and Stewart by officers where they attempted to detain the man. According to police, the suspect began struggling with police and resisted arrest when “an unrelated bystander” approached “and started yelling at the officers to leave him alone, getting up close to them and possibly trying to ‘un-arrest’ the suspect.” Police say one of the car owners who had pointed out the suspect confronted the bystander “and yelled at him to ‘Leave the cops alone!'” Police say the bystander found a small piece of metal on the ground and “brandished it at the witness, threatening to assault him with the jagged metal object.” Police took both the window smashing suspect and the bystander into custody. The first was booked for felony malicious mischief while the second was being held for investigation of felony harassment.

  Freeway Park rescue: Seattle Fire made an early morning rope rescue Saturday in Freeway Park. According to social media updates, SFD said the woman was found fallen down a gap inside the park near 6th and Seneca where she was hauled up in the pre-dawn rescue. We do not have additional information on her condition or how she ended up in the gap. UPDATE: SFD says the 25-year-old woman was rescued after following about 10 to 15 feet and transported to Harborview with non-life threatening injuries.
