Police search for driver of stolen pickup after woman struck at Broadway and Pine

Police were looking for a driver in a stolen Toyota pick-up who fled the scene after hitting a woman crossing Broadway only to crash and run away on First Hill minutes later Sunday night.

Emergency units were called to the busy Pine at Broadway intersection just after 8:30 PM Sunday to a report of a pedestrian stuck by the driver. Seattle Fire said the victim was a woman in her 20s transported to Harborview in stable condition.

According to East Precinct radio dispatches, police began searching for the vehicle reported as a black Toyota pickup after the driver sped away from the scene. Police were able to get information on the vehicle’s license plates and traced the truck to a stolen auto report.

Minutes later, police rushed to reports of a driver fleeing on foot from a collision near 8th and Cherry on First Hill involving the 2014 Toyota Tundra. Police searched the area but could not locate the suspect.
