A performance art piece featuring a cowboy up to his neck in Pike/Pine soil turned a few heads on Capitol Hill Thursday.
The performance even inspired a 911 call or two:
Earlier: Male being "buried" by two females, per caller. Appeared to be "consensual." But "dangerous." 14th at E Pike #scanner

Turns out, the 14th and Pike project in front of Love City Love from 24HR MART was part of the annual Yellow Fish art festival. You might see a few more things weird and wonderful around the neighborhood Friday as this year’s “durational art festival” wraps up.
Thursday’s head-turning “CARSON CITY 2: Rhinestone Cowboy” featured artist Max Kraushaar buried up to his neck in a sidewalk tree well for “however long it takes me to dig myself out to freedom.”
“It’s about feeling confident in your choices, in the face of failure or the future,” Kraushaar wrote. “Navigating them with ease and welcoming them as simply another gentle hill.”

It’s a good thing most piss tops are into safe, sane and consensual play. It’s harder to dig oneself out of mud.
You cannot sink in mud very easily. There is a thing called buoyancy.
I’d’ve put down a sign that says “Free Hugs”
As someone who used to work on construction safety….that’s a really good way to suffocate to death. Dirt is HEAVY. If it settled around his chest it could have stopped him from breathing properly. Oh well, anything for art I guess.
