Summit suspect tasered: Police chased down a car theft suspect and subdued him using a Taser late Monday night in the 1600 200 block of Summit Ave (the incident began in the 1600 block of Summit, according to SPD records). A caller reported seeing a male attempting to break into vehicles nearby around 10 PM. Police were dispatched to the area and two officers began a foot pursuit of a male matching the suspect description. The suspect was taken into custody after being struck by the taser. Seattle Fire was called to the scene to remove the probes that deliver a powerful, usually non-lethal electric shock from the suspect. The suspect taken into custody has not yet been charged with a crime.

  • Hammer assault arrest: Police arrested a man inside a 1700 Bellevue apartment building for attacking people with a hammer in an ongoing dispute between residents. According to the report on the late night July 5th assault, police arrived to find the assailant wearing only shorts and bleeding from the head. Witnesses said a fight broke out when the suspect locked himself out and an argument ensued about his possession of a master key and a recent altercation involving a taser between the suspect and a female resident of the building. During the hammer fight, residents were able to disarm the suspect and toss the weapon from a window, according to the report. The suspect was arrested and booked for investigation of felony assault.
  • Suspicious in the cemetery? SPD records, by the way, show that the suspicious vehicle wasn’t located:

It’s actually the 200 block of Summit, in the photo you can clearly see they’re standing in front of 231 Summit Ave. That’s the Thomas Street Market just out of the right side of the frame, which is at 233 Summit.

I think they shovel graves at night, but here’s hoping that we have a real Capitol Hill Gravedigger on the loose!
