- Pike/Boylston hold-up arrest (UPDATE): Two men arrested for an armed robbery on Capitol Hill early Friday morning may be linked to other recent crimes, according to Seattle Police. Officers rushed to Pike and Boylston after the reported 1:15 AM robbery. The victim said two males approached him and demanded he hand over a liquor bottle he had just purchased. When the victim refused, he told police the suspects attacked him, stole the bottle, and attempted to steal his wallet. One suspect flashed a gun tucked into his waistband. The two suspects, ages 27 and 29, fled scene but were arrested soon after. Officers pursued one onto the Seattle U campus where he was held at gunpoint and taken into custody. SPD did not specify what recent crimes the suspects may be linked to.
- 18th Ave house robbery: Police made one arrest and are investigating a Thursday afternoon incident inside a residence in the 1500 block of 18th Ave as a home invasion robbery. Around 2:30 PM, police were called to the house near 18th and Pike to a report that two males were beating the caller’s roommate. Officers pursued the suspects who were seen fleeing the area on foot. One male was taken into custody. Officers found a handgun in the alley and multiple knives at the property. Seattle Fire was called to treat the beating victim. Police continue to investigate the crime but believe the involved parties knew each other and say that suspected methamphetamine was found on the suspect who was arrested. Police were still looking for the second suspect.
- E Yesler streetcar tracks crash: A bicyclist was injured Friday morning after the bike’s wheel reportedly got stuck in the First Hill Streetcar track running up E Yesler near 13th Ave. We don’t yet have details of how badly the rider was hurt but the initial report called for a serious response but non-life threatening injuries.
