Eat some pie and think about math. And stuff. It’s March 14th — 3.14. The folks at Lost Lake held a pie eating contest Monday afternoon involving food and drink staff from around the neighborhood but there are lots of places on the Hill to enjoy a slice. Pizza counts. We even have a Pie Bar. As you enjoy yours, think about the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. Think about a second slice. Think about the ratio of your circumference to your diameter.

Celebrate National Pi Day next Monday, March 14th at Lost Lake Cafe with a pie eating contest at 2pm. Hosted by the glamorous Cookie Corsette, the neighborhood’s favorite restaurant folks from local faves including Lost Lake Cafe, Grim’s Provisions, Big Mario’s, Via Tribunali, Poquitos, Rhein Haus, Cafe Pettirosso, Ernest Loves Agnes, Neumos, The 5 Point Cafe- will race to see who can eat a full pie the fastest. The winner with the fastest time will have $500 to donate to their charity of choice. In addition, Lost Lake Cafe will be serving up pie slices for $3.14 until 8pm.

No word on who won the Lost Lake race but on Pi Day, we’re all winners. UPDATE: Brad from Via Trib and his charity of choice Music Cares won the day.
