On the List | Clinton does Century Ballroom, Retraces at 12th Ave Arts, Chuck’s turns 2, Seahawks

Screen Shot 2016-01-07 at 10.11.44 AMCapitol Hill will start its second weekend of 2016 with a little political excitement in Pike/Pine. Bill Clinton has resumed his fundraising tour to boost Hillary Clinton’s campaign for president and will be fulfilling his raincheck Friday at the Century Ballroom after a postponement in November:

Official event
Century Ballroom
915 East Pine Street
Seattle, Washington
Please join us for a reception in support of Hillary for America featuring special guest President Bill Clinton

The event is slated to run from 12:30 to 2:30 PM Friday. Expect parking in the area to be closed off and there could be traffic reroutes due to security.

Pike/Pine has played an outsized part so far in Seattle’s participation in the 2016 race for president. In an August fundraising visit to the Comet, Clinton challenger Bernie Sanders spoke on themes of economic equity and social responsibility. “This income and wealth inequality is grotesque, it is immoral, it is unsustainable,” Sanders said.

Century and owner Hallie Kuperman represent the only arts-related group to remain in the Odd Fellows building as it transitioned to retail and office space in the late 2000s. In 2012, we spoke to Kuperman about the 15-year anniversary of her ballroom.

Tickets for the Clinton event start at $500 — unless you qualify as a “young professional” — and, sorry, the $2,700 champion level, which includes a photo with the 42nd President of the United States, has sold out.

That’s OK! There are plenty of other things to do. Check out the CHS Calendar for more ideas — or to add your own.

Love that you can pay $2700 for a picture with the former president. Do ladies get a discount?

OK,lets say you pay top dollar to get into the Clinton show.Rumor has it that the Clinton show vetts those who get in,they don’t want someone asking an awkward question.Let’s say about Ben Ghazi. If you are refused entry,do you get your money back
