Traffic alert: Seattle Marathon runs a circle around Capitol Hill Sunday

Running 26.2 miles a few days after Thanksgiving is not CHS’s idea of fun — but thousands would disagree. Sunday marks the return of the Seattle Marathon to the city’s streets including the regular pass through Interlaken Park. You’ll find traffic delays and full-out closures along the route — see the map below. Leaders usually pass through Interlaken just after 10 AM if you’d like to be out there to cheer them along. More information can be found at seattlemarathon.org.

Some of us with fuller bellies (?!) and humbler goals will only be doing the half marathon. We’ll be cruising through the hill about an hour ahead of the marathoners.
