Police and medics were called to Pike and Broadway Sunday afternoon to a report that a man had been stabbed in the chest in a robbery attempt.
Police arrived at the scene around 12:30 PM and found the man bleeding but conscious.
A man who identified himself as the victim’s cousin told CHS at the scene that he got a call from his relative that the man had been stabbed in a robbery about 30 minutes before. It was not immediately clear where the robbery had taken place.
Seattle Fire says it treated a 39-year-old male with a single stab wound to the chest and transported him to Harborview.
According to SPD radio dispatches, police were looking for a suspect described as black male in his early 20s, around 6’2″ with a thin build. No further description of the reported assailant was available.
