Bruce Lee had a busy weekend at his eternal home atop Capitol Hill. Visitors marked Saturday’s 40th anniversary of the martial arts and movie star’s death by leaving flowers and photographs of Lee in action at his grave site in Lake View Cemetery through the weekend.
Monday, Capitol Hill’s Pine Box — housed in the former mortuary where Lee was mourned by Hollywood stars, family and friends on July 30th, 1973 following a massive public funeral in Hong Kong — is marking the 40th anniversary with a marathon of Lee movies. “Bring a friend, bring a chair, have a beer and remember the Dragon,” the *OLD* invitation reads (Sorry!). UPDATE: The Pine Box 2013 Bruce Lee event is planned for July 31st.
Meanwhile, there have been no posts from Bruce Lee this year on CHS — yet.
Whoa! Bruce Lee was in the mortuary across the street from my office! Who knew! :-O

Your current hyperlinking of “the invitation reads” is an event from last year (Monday, July 30, 2012). I went searching on Pine Box’s Facebook page for a more current event, and this is it, on Wednesday, July 31, 2013.

It’s confirmed here on Pine Box’s site. http://www.pineboxbar.com/events#bruce
Just thought it would help to know.
Thanks a bunch. Sorry for the error.
All those flowers for Bruce, and I get ignored under shrub next door. I’ve got 94 years seniority on the whippersnapper, how about some respect!
