“In France, when you say you’re going to the zinc, back in the day, it meant you were going to the bar,” Willy Boutillier told CHS way back in February about the name for his new bar and restaurant in the also new Vox Apartments at 15th and Pine.

Le Zinc, Boutillier’s first expansion of his Maximillien empire, “officially” opens on Monday. Officially, in France, means you might get lucky over the weekend if you have an urge for mussels and Lillet.

You know what they call a Quarter Pounder in France? Who cares? We want Penn Cove mussels.

If you’d like to ogle the Graham Baba design space across the street from Anchovies & Olives and Poco, Seattle Met has a slideshow of the interior. We’ll have more from Le Zinc soon. You can learn more at le-zn.com.

UPDATE: Opens officially Monday night. More pictures Tuesday.9128127360_43f8575a37_b
