As the Undre Arms building and the peculiar triangle land at the intersection of Madison, 12th Ave and Union makes way for the future, maybe you can help part of that peculiar triangle find a new Capitol Hill home:
I’m currently looking to rent a parking space for our food truck ” Thai Curry Simple express ” in Capitol Hill area. The [ideal] space should be about 2 cars parking spot and within 5 blocks from our previous spot. I have been searching for a store for rent in the neighborhood but could not find anything suitable for us. Some space was too big or many stores are available for short terms lease ( 6 months ). If you know anybody or any info. about a space available. Please let me know. I’m looking forward to set up Thai lunch business again in Capitol hill.Thank you very much for your time and effort.Sincerely yours,Mark from Thai Curry Simple
You can contact Mark via the Thai Curry Simple 2 Facebook page.
I ate there at least twice a week.
Try either the parking lot of the Shell station at the corner of Broadway and Pike or the parking lot of the 76 station at 23rd and Union (which used to host a taco truck).
Me too. TCS was a great spot and I hope they can re-open.
One possible location for the Food Truck would be the parking lot on Pike between Old School Frozen Custard and Doghouse Leathers?
Is it pronounced “Under Arms”? It just doesn’t sound like a good name for a building. Am I missing something?
It’s an accurate name rather than a aspirational one, though I have no idea if it was deliberately chosen.
I have friends who went to check out a unit there, probably about seven years ago. The manager wouldn’t let them fill out an application because they weren’t married. S/he was also apparently famously homophobic. The structure was in a fabulous state of disrepair and had about 80 years of Seattle history rusting in a heap in what passed for a backyard.
Fig: Thanks for the info.
