The Year of the Protester, indeed. A scan of the 30 most-commented CHS posts from 2011 reveals that the conversation over a global wave of economic protests is also a local discussion — not a huge surprise when you’re talking about a neighborhood that hosted a protest camp for weeks. Giving the list a thorough examination, you’ll see that it wasn’t just Occupy, however, that had CHS commenters talking. One of the biggest comment threads was born of the drama surrounding a-lost-then-found Boston terrier. We also had things to say about changes to Cal Anderson Park, an ongoing neighborhood cafe drama and, yes, Metro buses. In all, CHS commenters produced more than 14,000 bon mots, virtual high-fives, troll-ily contrived ignorances, questions, quotes and 100%-appreciated-though-I-might-not-always-say-it typo catches and suggested edits. That’s more than 40 per day for those of you scoring at home (or, even if you are alone). Thanks for the great year. We’ll have more Year in Review throughout the week.
