- This Sunday incident near Seattle U wasn’t the only weekend street robbery reported in the area over the weekend. Friday featured reports of two different muggings. The first went down at 19th Ave E and John after a group followed two teen victims off the bus from 23rd Ave. According to SPD, three suspects approached the two teenagers and asked to borrow their phone around 5:20p. As one suspect grabbed the phone, the others rifled through the boys’ pockets. A fourth suspect suddenly appeared and punched one of the victim’s in the back of the head. All of the suspects then fled the area. The victim had a raised bump from the blow but refused medical attention. The suspects were described as a group of teen or young black males with one being between the age of 9 and 11. There were no arrests. :
- : In another Friday street robbery, two men told police they were robbed at gunpoint in an alley in the 500 block of Summit Ave E just before 9p Friday night. The victims told police that two Hispanic males wearing hoodies and baseball caps approached them in the alley and pointed a handgun at them and took their wallets, a cell phone and a backpack. SPD searched the area but the men could not be located.
