In this original quiet play, Grant McNamara has just returned home from the war. As he struggles to reconnect with his parents and fiancé, he finds it difficult to bear the guilt of survival and cope with the stress of the trauma he suffered in combat. Haunted by the ghosts of his dead comrades, he soon discovers that he is an unwilling participant in the battle for his soul between Ares, the God of War, and a mysterious Angel.

As an organization, quiet places a high priority on providing practical ways in which people can take active steps to become engaged in change. Each night of the production will sponsor a different partner organization. After each performance, the sponsored organization will participate in a community discussion about gender issues presented in the play. Panelists for the discussion will include actors, technicians, community members, academic instructors as well as representatives from our partner organization. A key component of these discussions is creating a place for dialogue; thus, all patrons are encouraged to present questions and participate in the discussion. Come be a part of the conversation!

Shunpike is a 501(c)(3) non-profit art service organization whose mission is to strengthen the Seattle arts community by partnering with small and mid-size arts groups to develop the business tools they need to succeed.
