Blotter: Ex-employee accused in 14th Ave gym theft, $9k Interlaken home break-in

An ex-employee at 14th Ave’s Mode of Fitness allegedly entered the Chloe building gym late Friday night and made off with “expensive” equipment he told a witness he was “reclaiming,” the man’s former employer told police.

According to the person from Mode of Fitness who contacted police, the alleged thief was fired from the gym six months ago and was told to stay away from the property after harassing members.

According to the report on the incident, the man somehow overcame the biometric fingerprint device used to enter the gym just before 11 PM Friday. A witness saw the man who said he was “reclaiming things” and texted Mode’s staff who were not on site at that hour of the night.

Interlaken home burglary
An East Crescent Drive home near Interlaken Park was burglarized for more than $9,000 worth of electronics including a new television, three cameras and a Macbook. In the June 13th burglary, police found pry marks near a kitchen window and fingerprints on two jars full of coins that the thief decided to leave behind.

Um, sounds like somebody at the gym forgot to delete him as a user and they don’t want to admit it.

There’s more to this story I expect.

Tom actually he was taken out of the system. As the story states we have had issues with this person in the past. Good news is we have replaced all items and everything is back to normal. We love being part of the neighborhood…

Tom, I just saw this posting. My name is Dominick Lucia, and I am the creator and Co Founder of Mode of Fitness and I am the agent in question. I was not fired but was compelled from the company as the result of a hostile takeover in October 2009 which were illegal and in violation of Washington State Law. Since entering litigation with opposing parties, I legally reclaimed my personal property from the company which included equipment. The Seattle Police Department determined the allegations of theft in this case to be a false claim.

Correction to my response: It was October 2010 when the illegal violation took place. Not 2009.

Correct, there is a lot more to the story…
