First, Fritzi the 17th Ave E chicken was found. Now CHS has another incredible journey to share with you this week. CHS received this thank you note for you, Capitol Hill. Turns out, somehow Pepper the dog made it all the way from Greenwood to Capitol Hill over the past two weeks before her family got a call Friday from somebody on Capitol Hill. A dog that looked like Pepper had been spotted running loose:
Pepper is found!
This morning our dog was spotted running loose in Capitol Hill. We live in Greenwood. We’ve been looking and looking for her. I was called so I headed to Capitol Hill with fliers and started posting and talking to people out walking. My deepest most heart felt Thanks to all the people who called with sightings! She’s a fast and fit and very shy girl so without so many caring people helping we never would have been able to keep up with her and finally get ahead of her and catch her. She is home now.We are so very relieved and so very very Thankful!!! to all of Capitol Hill!!!! Thank you!!!!
~~ Tyra
Tyra tells us she has no idea, of course, how Pepper made it to the Hill. She was lost about two and a half weeks ago when Tyra’s husband was taking their dogs out to drive out to the country for a run. Pepper bolted and the journey to Capitol Hill began. Either Pepper got a ride or the dog ran across a lot of neighborhoods and a bridge or two to get to the Hill.
Tyra said she and her husband were assisted by multiple people as they tried to track the lost and scared Pepper down near Volunteer Park. “She kept looking from 15th and Volunteer Park down to about 19th and Roy and around again. We kept losing sight of her, then we’d get another call and off we go,” Tyra said.
Pepper, we’re told, has been catching up on her rest at home while the other dogs play outside. It’s been a long trip. Tyra is thankful to have her back. “All in all Seattle is a city that really cares. Really,” Tyra said.
This makes me so very happy to live on Cap Hill. I’m so thankful Pepper is back with her peeps, and bless the “Dog People” of the Hill who helped.
