The man charged with murder in the Thanksgiving week axe attack at 15th and Union and another sidewalk bludgeoning attack on 5th Ave S, will face trial in September, according to state court documents.
Michael LaRosa, 26, was earlier deemed competent to stand trial on the two counts of murder. He was caught fleeing the scene of the November 22nd axe attack. LaRosa has told authorities he has battled bi-polar behavior and schizophrenia. Doctors at Western State Hospital found him competent to stand trial despite his history of “severe mental illness.”
