From the CHS Classifieds: Fritzi the 17th Ave E chicken lost and then found

Fritzi the chicken, it seems, was lost sometime between 2 and 6 PM on Monday. She was missing from her 17th Ave E coop. She wasn’t a good flyer so her family presumed she hadn’t gone far. No feathers were found. This was not a case of fowl foul play. More than 100 of you shared the Fritzi item from the CHS Classifieds via Facebook. We’re happy to be able to point you to a new classified posted today — Fritzi is alive and well and, presumably, back in her coop. Here are details on the happy reunion from Fritzi’s pal Grendal.

Fritzi was found! A wonderful person by the name of Chip was walking down the street and saw her in the neighbors bushes (3 houses down). I had a flyer tacked to the tree out in our parking strip. He and his woman friend even helped me wrangle her.

I brought Fritzi to school in her dog purse for my daughter to see that we found her. It’s amazing she made it through the night with those raccoons on steroids we have around here.

I would just like to thank all you CHS bloggers out there. The out pouring was amazing. The post was shared over a hundred times.

Thanks again,
The “Grendel” family

While it sounds like good old-fashioned neighborly behavior was key in this situation, never underestimate the power of the CHS Classifieds. We can now turn our attention to helping out this family:

We currently live in North Capitol Hill and our landlord has informed us that he wants to move back into his house as of July 1st. We’d love to stay in the neighborhood. Do you know of any rentals that will be available at that time? We’d love to hear from you. Thanks!

Please contact us at [email protected]

Here’s our wish list:

3+ bedrooms

2 bathrooms

Den/Playroom

Lots of light

Fenced back yard

What do you say, Fritzi? Can you help?
