The war to maintain Capitol Hill as a geek’s paradise is about to draw new battle lines when Seattle Wargaming fires its opening salvos next week.
Here’s the space’s description from the Seattle Wargaming Facebook page:
New Store by 2 veteran gamers for the community. Gaming is the main emphasis with space premium going to 11-15 gaming tables.
The East Olive Way game space and gear supplier will open its doors for the first time Monday at 10 AM. It promises “tabletop wargaming, CCG and boardgames. 1000sqft of gaming space and nice open airy feeling with high ceilings and plenty product lines planned.” Current plan is to be open every day, 10 AM to 11 PM.
The Capitol Hill geek culture and business environment is alive and well with Broadway’s Metrix Create: Space, Ada’s Technical Books, First Hill’s Jigsaw Renaissance and Pine’s Gamma Ray Games finding a way to monetize — or at least pay the rent for — maker culture and nerd creativity.
Seattle Wargaming is owned by James Clayton and celebrates with a grand opening next Friday night, February 11, promising deals and free snacks and giveaways. You can RSVP here.
