In our coverage of the dangerous light poles being found around the Hill and the rest of the city we also mentioned a giant pothole at the intersection of Aloha and 13th that was so deep and so destructive that neighbors and victims had taken to stacking dislodged hubcaps alongside the road in warning to all that danger lurked. We talked to one neighbor who also took the problem of eliminating the menace into her own hands — she called the Pothole Rangers. Today, that pothole is patched.
Of course, down and up Aloha and on almost every major (and minor) street in the area, the cracks, crevasses and craters are cropping up. The SDOT crew that repaired the 13th/Aloha hole must have driven over several others to get there. So, here’s what you need to do make sure the city’s Pothole Rangers make the streets near you safe for everybody. Report early, report often. Also, if you know of a particularly nasty ‘hole, let us know about it in comments so we can check in on the Rangers’ battle.

thanks for posting about this – i’ve seen a couple potholes in the past week that were big enough to hide a cat in.
Last weekend, during the heavy rain, I ran into a deep pothole disguised as a shallow puddle when I was riding my scooter on Boylston Avenue. I called this number that you provided and was IMMEDIATELY speaking to someone who gave me instructions on how I can file a claim with The City of Seattle. I will now be reimbursed for the repair of my bent tire rims.
It was so easy!
I also have 206 386-1218
That form is super easy to fill out & I just reported the one on Aloha between 17th & 18th that I mentioned in the earlier thread. Will be bookmarking that form for future reference.
Thanks CHS!
Is there a pothole rangers in Tacoma? I hit a huge pothole last night and it bent my rim; now the rim and tire wont hold air and possible alignment trouble. Does the city pay for these damages and if so where do i start to look for reimbursement???
