We’re just full of lovely news, I know, but here’s one more from the shadows. A woman’s purse was stolen Friday afternoon near 14th and Republican by a man who jumped out of a black Volkswagen SUV, snatched the bag and jumped back in the vehicle before his accomplice sped away.

The woman was not injured in the robbery which occurred around 3:40 PM. Police arrived at the scene but did not immediately find the SUV. The woman told police she last saw the car heading north on 15th Ave E from Republican.

The license plate provided by the victim checked to a vehicle that had recently been reported stolen elsewhere in the neighborhood.
