Saturday might be the busiest day of the year for dress-up shopping on Capitol Hill. Lisa Chang of Broadway’s Trendy Wendy probably knows what she’s talking about when she points out the coincidence of one more week until next Saturday’s Red Dress Party benefit for Lifelong AIDS Alliance and the usual scramble for awesome Halloween get-ups. By the way, the Red Dress site says many Broadway merchants are offering deals on red dresses so you might want to target that area for your hunt. Capitol Hill will also figure prominently in the Red Dress Party pre- and post- party activities. More on that below. First, here’s a list of Capitol Hill Halloween shopping hot spots.

- Red Light Vintage, 312 Broadway East. Stocks up extra for the big day. You might find something you can wear again after Halloween, too.

- Value Village, 1525 11th Ave, Stocks up and augments with leftover packaged costumes from I-dunno-where. Lots of kids stuff. Pro tip: Ask the staff before you settle on your pick. They’ve already dug through everything and know if there’s a cooler version buried on the racks.
- Brocklind’s, 500 East Pike, We all already missed their annual garage sale. Boo. Brocklind’s is closest thing the Hill has to the higher end insanity that goes on at Champion Party Supply.
