
In 30 days, the empty lot at Pike and Belmont created by a stalled economy and stalled development will fill up with slightly crazy mini-parks. You and some pals should be a part of it. Park(ing) Day 2010 is September 17 and Keith Harris, the man behind the People’s Parking Lot, says the first idea for a one-day Capitol Hill mini-park has been turned in:
I just received an application for the first Park(ing) Day Central Park mini-park, in record time (I just sent out and posted the application three days ago). The Mad Tea Party in the Park — no relation to the, you know, assbackwards Tea Party — will be hosted by two graduate students from Antioch University’s Center for Creative Change.
