We received an e-mail from Cindy today about what could be a remarkable story of a dog’s journey across the city. Have you seen Sophie? More on Sophie and some other lost pets notices from the CHS Classifieds, below.
Here’s Cindy’s report of the latest Seattle sighting of Sophie here on the Capitol Hill:
She was a rescue dog from the streets of Taiwan. She has been missing on the streets her in Seattle for almost 1 month but several people have spotted her and gotten close enough to give her water on Capitol Hill today. If you could help us by posting her story to your site it would be great to get the word out. She is a very sweet dog and is tired, hungry and scared. Both Northwest International Pet Rescue and our family – her adopted home – is desperately looking for her and any tips from your readers would help us so much. I was in the neighborhood today near QFC on 15th and Harrison (she was spotted by two different people in this area this morning around 9:30) and everyone I spoke to was very helpful.

And lest — like jseattle once believed — you think pet lost & found notices are just depressing, let it be known that sometimes happy reunions do come true.
I saw her yesterday morning. Her hair is longer now. She will look right into your eyes. It did not occur to me that she looked unhealthy, perhaps because her long hair makes her look so fluffy.
Thanks for posting! We handed out some flyers along 15th today. Hoping that once the rain stops and people are out walking someone will see her again. If we can find out where she is hanging out maybe we can coax her to us with some food. Thanks again for posting the sighting!
he just flew in last night to move here to be with me on a flight with my best friend and had some rescue remedy on the flight. i think he was disoriented and lost his way during the night when someone let him out of the house while i was out. hes very friendly although may be skiddish at first, as hes in a new place and used to roaming back in alabama.
His name is mecca and hess 11 years old, very very sweet and i hope this post finds someone who has seen him.
