One man was severely beaten after a fight on the street near Maharaja and the old BMW building on E. Pike early this morning. According to the police radio reports from the incident, the man who was beaten was transported to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.

police blocked off the street there were at least two ambulances, one guy was bandaged up a lot and was strapped to the gurney board.
Bruce told CHS the story at the scene was that a group of men attacked two men and a woman who had bumped into them on the street and “got in their way.”
According to the radio reports, police were looking for a group of four to five males who were last seen heading toward Broadway. The main assailant was described as a black male, around 5’10”, medium build, bald and clean cut, wearing glasses and a purple button-up shirt. Police did not find the men in the check of the area immediately following the crime. We’ll confirm details and check on whether any arrests were made later in the night.
Hit and run near 14th and Pike
In a separate incident, a woman driving a maroon Chevy Malibu hit another car near 14th and Pike, dropped off her passengers and left the scene of the accident, according to police radio reports. An area check didn’t turn up the driver but police did find the grill of her car in the street neat the intersection. Police talked with the passengers who were dropped off who told them the woman said she would return to the scene. She did not, apparently, but officers said they “stumbled upon” the car 45 minutes later near E Thomas and Coryell Court. According to the radio report, the woman will be ticketed for her actions.
one of the men beat up is my younger cousin and the other man was his roomate. They don’t remember being jumped and brutalized at all and just left the hospital at 8am this morning. Both of them have severe facial lacerations, a fractured orbital, broken nose, subdural hematoma, to name a few of the injuries. They were jumped standing up for a woman who was just trying to walk by the group on the sidewalk. If you have any information about the assailants, please contact Officer Crawford with the police.

I was in a cab that was secondarily rear-ended in that hit and run. I’m kinda shocked the woman was only ticketed, as she not only fled the scene but did so buy pulling out into the wrong lane of traffic, running the red light at 14th, and screaming off down the road. I paid the cab driver and walked the rest of the way home with pepper spray in hand. sheesh.
